Anyway, on with the Fun Facts.
1. Iowa is a win over Purdue from its 12th unbeaten home season, and first since 2004.
2. The last time Purdue defeated a nationally ranked team was when it beat No. 10 Iowa 27-14 in West Lafayette, Ind., in 2003.
3. The last time Purdue played an unbeaten team in November was two years ago, when it lost to Ohio State, 56-0.
4. Three Iowa running backs have rushed for 195 or more yards in a game. They are Jordan Canzeri (256 yards vs. Illinois), Akrum Wadley (204 at Northwestern) and LeShun Daniels (195 vs. Minnesota). The last time one team had three players do that was LSU in 1997 with Cecil Collins (232), Rondell Mealey (222) and Kevin Faulk (212).
5. The Big Ten record of Purdue Coach Darrell Hazell is 2-20.
6. Iowa Coach Kirk Ferentz was a first-year Hawkeyes assistant in 1981 when Iowa ended its 20-game losing streak to the Boilermakers with a 33-7 triumph.
7. Purdue freshman quarterback David Blough has three touchdown passes of 60 yards or longer this season. No other Big Ten player has more than one.
8. Iowa’s offense hasn’t committed a turnover in its last three games.
9. Boilermaker senior kicker Paul Griggs is 3-of-9 in field goals this season, with 34 yards his longest. As a freshman three years ago, he kicked a last-second 46-yarder to give Purdue a 27-24 win at Iowa.
10. Hawkeye senior kicker Marshall Koehn has more field goals from 40 yards or longer (7) than from inside 40 (6).
11. Purdue scored 55 points in a win over Nebraska on Oct. 31. It scored a total of 48 points in the two games before and two games after it played the Cornhuskers.
12. Iowa has scored 30 or more points in four straight Big Ten games for the first time. The game before that streak, the Hawkeyes had 29 points against Illinois.
13. Iowa’s school colors are black and gold. Purdue’s are black and old gold. Central Florida, Southern Mississippi and Vanderbilt are the other black-and-gold FBS schools.
